Feng Shui your bedroom for a good sleep

Feng Shui BedroomSleeping is something we all do approximately 1/3 of our lives and it is therefore a very important factor for our overall health. Bedroom is the place where you rest and sleep to recharge your energy(chi) that has been used up for the whole day. You can notice that a person’s behaviour is totally different if he/she is lack of good sleep. The person can be very impatient, clumsy, lazy and so on… Lacking of good sleep is also bad towards your health. A research shows that lack of sleep takes toll of brain power. Meaning your brain had to work more in order to get things done compared to a normal person who has enough sleep.

Here are the basic bedroom feng shui guidelines you should follow.

1. Do not sleep under a beam
- This is because you will feel the whole load is under you and having a proper sleep is nearly impossible!

2. Do not have a mirror facing in front of you when you’re sleeping
- People believe that when you sleep, your soul will leave your body. When you have a mirror reflecting your sleeping body, your soul will be confused when it’s time to go back.

3. Do not have electrical equipment such as television, radio, computer… in your bedroom
- Electrical equipment creates bad energy in a room that’s suppose to be.

4. Make sure behind your headboard is a wall and not window
- Sleeping with your head close to a window as your chi will dissipate through the window and make you feel more tired on awakening and sleeping behind a wall is like having a support behind you.

5. Do not sleep with your feet facing a window, door or toilet
- This orients your body to the ‘dead man’ position.

6. Never place real plants or any water features in the bedroom
- This invites extremely bad luck into your life. Water feature meaning picture of a waterfall or sea. Try to avoid the color blue because blue color is a type of water feature. However having a glass of water beside your bed is fine.

7. Toilet in your bedroom
- If you have an attached toilet in your bedroom, make sure it is always closed.

8. Pictures or images in bedroom
- Pictures in bedroom need to be considered carefully. Any pictures with hunting scenes, lonely windswept moors with single figures or any with sad connections, such as ‘Guernica’ by Picasso should be removed. Even picture of a good friend should be removed because this might create a third party between you and your partner.

9. Poison Arrow
- Is bad energy transmitted by sharp points and angles. Try to use table with a rounded corner to avoid having sharp points pointing at your bed.

10. Clean and no clutter
- Make sure your bedroom is always clean and clutter-less. Unwanted things should be placed back and don’t leave it in the bedroom thinking that you’ll put them back tomorrow. Usually a person tends to get lazy and day by day the clutter will build up.

Hope you have a great sleep after following these 10 steps to a good feng shui bedroom.
